Thursday we had our first track workout. That would be the 5:50am workout. Ouch. It was as hard as I remembered it to be, to get up that early. But, once I got to the track, was pumped up by a Coach Al speech, and started running, my frown turned upside down. It is still dark out at 6 in the morning and the view of Berkeley from the track is def waking up early in the mornings for.
Saturday morning was our first team run. IT WAS AWESOME! We have a great team this season and I am so looking forward to all of the fun we are going to have. Michelle and I debuted our oober cool spirit awards before the run. Wacky tacky visors!
(Michelle and I doing our Spirit Captain duties)

The run was at the San Leandro Marina. I only ran 1.5 miles so I could get back early to cheer the team in. Saturdays run was a first for many of our "of the couch" runners and I wanted to make them feel good about their first team run.
Some more photos from Saturdays run...

Since I am training for the Shamrock'n Half Marathon in March, I knew I needed to up my milleage from the Teams training schedule so after San Leandro, I ran another 1.5 miles in Berkeley. Then, on Sunday I ran 4 miles. So far so good. Tomorrow buddy runs start, then more track, Saturday runs, gu's, etc. etc. I couldn't be more excited! GO TEAM!
