So, to make a long running story short, I completed the Nike Women's half marathon last weekend with 20,000 runners. 5,000 of them were TNT runners from around the US. How cool is that? It was, for many reasons, a totally different experience than the Avenue of the Giants Half Marathon. At Nike there were a bazillion supporters along the whole course which def helped keep up my spirits, especially during the 1.5 mile section of ALL UPHILL running! Some of those supporters included my AWESOME parents, Justin (Jessica's boyfriend), and the twirly flag thing!
And, I had the oh-so-fabulous Jessica to run with!!! I was to grateful to run this event with Jessica because it was her very first half marathon and first season with TNT and I was the one who convinced her to sign up for it. SHE ROCKED!I had this strange goal in my head the this half marathon would be easier than Avenue since I had "been around the block" before. Boy was I wrong. The hills were killer. The last 2 miles all I wanted to do was walk, but Jessica and I persevered and kicked the courses ass and ran with smiling faces all the way to the finish. Mainly we were smiling because it was over, but also because we DID THE DAMN THING!
And the piece de la resistance? A SEXAY Tiffany's necklace as a finishers medal passed out by a SEXAY SF fireman in a TUX!!!! Hummena Hummena.
Overall it was an awesome weekend spent with my best bud Jessica, my parents, and my Fall TNT TEAM FIRED UP! It was great to share this event with my fellow teammates and can't wait for more in the future.
My TNT season is not over yet so I promise I will be better about updating this thing.
